Green Token Giving Funding: Asda Galashiels Local Projects
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the recipients of Asda’s Green Token Giving funding; understands that projects are awarded funding based on votes by customers in stores; notes that in Galashiels, Border Women's Aid Ltd won the customer vote in the first round and was awarded £500, with runners up Fresh Start Borders and The Difference awarded £200 each, and that in the second round there was a first place tie, which meant that both Borders Additional Needs Group and Scottish Borders Rape Crisis Centre were awarded £350 each, with Galashiels Community Council as runner up receiving £200; considers that local community projects such as these are an important source of support and resources for many, and believes that this funding will be put to very good use.
