More Than £7,300 Raised for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland in Memory of Volunteer, Christine Smith
The motion
That the Parliament pays tribute to the passionate volunteering efforts for Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland by Christine Smith, who sadly passed away on 7 November 2021; understands that Christine started volunteering for four hours a week at the charity’s boutique in Bridgewater shopping centre, Erskine from August 2020 and progressed to volunteering for between 15 and 20 hours per week, due to enjoying the experience so much; notes that her family state that Christine was one of the most selfless and caring people many of them had met and they could think of no better tribute to her character than to raise money for the charity she so dearly cared for; appreciates that, instead of giving flowers, more than £7,300 has been raised via a fundraising website for Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland in Christine’s memory, and sends its heartfelt condolences to her husband, John, sons, Craig and Murray, and her wider family and friends.
