New College Lanarkshire - World Skills Success

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates New College Lanarkshire after it was named best in the UK for skills provision, coming out on top at the national "Skills Olympics" organised by WorldSkills UK; understands that WorldSkills UK works to inspire, develop and influence the learning of skills of the future through career advice and developing technical and employability skills of young people through national and international programmes; further understands that students from across the New College Lanarkshire’s Motherwell, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld campuses won 15 accolades in total, including three gold, three silver, three bronze and six highly-commended awards; notes that this is the fifth time New College Lanarkshire has been named the number one performing institution in the competition since 2013; acknowledges that this achievement continues New College Lanarkshire’s and Scotland’s rich success in World Skills competitions, and wishes all award winners and everyone at the College the very best for the future.
