Calderbraes Football Club Achieves Gold Quality Mark Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Calderbraes Football Club, including its Chairperson, Stephen McCrory, and more than 50 volunteers, for achieving the Gold Quality Mark Award from the Scottish Football Association; understands that to achieve a Gold Award football clubs need to maintain eight teams or more represented across children, youth and male and female adult games, as well as having to comply with mandatory requirements across categories including participation, education (players and volunteers), child wellbeing, equity and health and safety; notes that Calderbraes Football Club currently has 16 teams, including an adult team playing at amateur level; recognises the club for promoting a safe and fun environment for its players, with equality, diversity and fairness at the core of its operations; acknowledges the positive impact the club has on the wider wellbeing of the local community through educational events such as the Network Rail/Scottish Football Association rail safety initiative for its child and youth players, and its suicide prevention programme, in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, and wishes Calderbraes Football Club well with its future development plans both on and off the soccer pitch.
