Inverness Project Recognised with National Awards

That the Parliament congratulates the new Merkinch Primary School and Family Centre in Inverness for winning two awards at the Learning Place Scotland Awards; notes that the project won the Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space and the Innovation in Delivering Value categories; understands that Merkinch Primary School is the first school in the Highlands, and the largest in Scotland, to be built using a cross-laminated timber frame (CLT), which is more sustainable than traditional construction methods; further understands that the project was funded through the Highland Council’s capital programme, with support from the Scottish Government’s investment programme, Scotland’s Schools for the Future, and wishes all at the project all of the best for the future.
