North East Sensory Services, Barclays 100x100 Programme
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that North East Sensory Services, NESS, has received £100,000 in funding from the Barclays 100x100 programme, as part of its wider £100 million COVID-19 Community Aid Package; understands that NESS will use the funding to provide greater digital inclusion to sensory impaired people, in particular elderly people, by providing support and training in using accessible electronic devices; understands that this support will enable blind and deaf people to stay connected with friends and family during the pandemic; recognises the impact that NESS has, in providing support to over 6,500 people across the north east; commends Barclays for selecting NESS for the funding, and wishes NESS's staff, volunteers and service users every success in the future.
