River City Star, Jordan Young, Supports Reading Campaign

The motion

That the Parliament thanks Jordan Young for his commitment to encouraging young people in their enjoyment of books as part of a current Children 1st campaign; understands that the River City star was the chosen reader for the recent bedtime story, The Last Wolf, by Mini Grey, which beautifully reimagines the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood; delights that Children 1st has partnered with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to launch the book recordings on its website, which include readings by the First Minister, Sanjeev Kohli, Eddi Reader and other well-known figures; pays tribute to the contributors and support teams for enabling such a worthwhile project; gratefully acknowledges the valuable contribution of experience, skills and time that Jordan and others give to good causes throughout the year, and wishes the children of Scotland and their families much enjoyment and excitement in engaging with these books as their creative minds continue to flourish.
