The motion

That the Parliament welcomes asylum seekers who wish to call Scotland their home; acknowledges what it sees as the contribution that asylum seekers make to Scotland’s cultural diversity; believes that asylum seekers should be allowed to work whilst their application for asylum is being processed; commends charities and organisations working in the third sector, including those in the Glasgow region, that help asylum seekers adjust to life in Scotland, and notes the calls for free bus travel to be provided to asylum seekers, by extending the concessionary travel scheme to include all asylum seekers currently residing in Scotland.
