East Lothian Council Receives Special Recognition for Electrical Vehicle Innovation

That the Parliament congratulates East Lothian Council on receipt of the Public Transport Authority of the Year Special Recognition Award at the Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence 2021 Awards in Bristol; notes that the awards are designed to spotlight innovation and excellence in electric vehicles and charging technology, and noted the extensive work carried out by East Lothian Council to install a comprehensive network of on-street chargers close to where they are needed, in addition to prominent 50kW journey charging sites in all major town centres, and recognises what it considers the impressive efforts of the council following what it sees as the Scottish Government's ambitious targets to phase out the need to buy new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030.
