Inverclyde Scouts Recognised for Clocking Up 5,000 Hours of Volunteering
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 14 young Scout leaders from the 32nd Greenock and District group on being presented with Saltire Awards in recognition of their combined 5,000 hours of volunteering; notes that Saltire Awards are a way for the Scottish Government to recognise and reward the contribution of young volunteers aged 12 to 25; recognises that eight of the awards recognised 500 hours of volunteering, which is the highest award possible, with three receiving awards for 200 hours' service, and three for 100 hours' service; commends the 14 young volunteers for their commitment to the Scouting movement, and for giving up their own time to provide activities for young people across Inverclyde; believes that this is an example of how invaluable young people are to the third sector, and hopes that their achievement will encourage other young people to consider volunteering.
