Bill Bryden CBE
The motion
That the Parliament notes with great sadness the passing of 79-year-old Greenock theatre director, Bill Bryden CBE; recognises that Bill enjoyed a long and successful career, which included producing the award-winning TV drama, Tutti Frutti; understands that Bill was head of drama at BBC Scotland from 1984-93, associate director at the National Theatre in London from 1975 to 1985 and that in 1990 he produced The Ship for Glasgow’s year as European City of Culture, and appreciates that Bill will be missed by many but believes his legacy will live on through his achievements in the arts.
