The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Loganair on its diamond anniversary, celebrating 60 years since the founding of the airline by William Logan, on 1 February 1962; recognises what it sees as the importance and socio-economic benefits of the air service that the airline provides to the Highlands and Islands, from the early pioneering flights to and within the Northern Isles, to being the largest operator of domestic routes in the UK today; acknowledges the particular difficulties faced by Loganair and the air travel industry during the COVID-19 pandemic; expresses its thanks to the directors and staff, past and present, for their commitment to Scottish aviation; understands that Loganair is working with local musicians to create a unique song to mark the anniversary, and wishes Loganair all the best for its milestone and success in its future endeavours.
