The motion

That the Parliament commends the pupils and staff of St Ninian's High School, Kirkintilloch, on attaining the Silver Award as a United Nations Rights Respecting School; recognises what it sees as the dedication and tenacity of the RRS Captains and Ambassadors in actively promoting the practical application of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child through activities, discussions and partnership work with other school clubs, focusing on equalities and ethical consumerism; delights that the school management and wider staff team have embraced opportunities to ensure that the principles of the UN Convention are woven throughout the school's curriculum and ethos; applauds the successful launch of the group's podcast on Spotify, which includes engaging interviews with pupils, staff and the wider community about ways in which children's rights can be upheld; thanks all those who participate in the fundraising events to raise awareness and provide support for those whose rights may have been violated, such as young people in Afghanistan; congratulates all at St Ninian's High School for what it sees as their continued and tremendous effort in obtaining the awards at Bronze and Silver levels since joining the scheme in 2019, and sends its encouragement and best wishes to pupils, staff and the wider school community in their current journey towards the Gold Award.
