Commending Environmental Charity Hubbub

The motion

That the Parliament commends the work being done by the environmental charity, Hubbub, in working to help bring a community fridge to Aberdeenshire; notes that, in partnership with the Co-op, Hubbub is calling on community groups to apply for grants of up to £4,000 to roll out community fridges to communities in the north east; understands that community fridges reduce food waste and empower communities to help each other, through activities such as cookery sessions and grow your own fruit and vegetable workshops; applauds this initiative, and the 250 community fridges that it understands are already established across the UK, which are used by 460,000 visitors, and with each fridge redistributing 2.4 tonnes of food per month, in 2020, and hopes that this work can continue in the future.
