Fiona McAvoy MBE and Newton Primary School, Ayr

The motion

That the Parliament applauds Fiona McAvoy MBE, and all of the staff at Newton Primary School in Ayr, for their work in tackling poverty and social issues in the area; understands that the school runs several initiatives that serve the local community; notes that, most recently, the school ensured that all pupils, and their siblings, were given a large gift bag for Christmas made up of donations from Ayr residents; understands that the school’s Christmas drive gains more support every year, with the 2021 drive being the most successful so far; congratulates the school for, it understands, also giving homeless people Christmas packs, containing clothes, selection boxes, toiletries, and gifts; commends Newton Primary School for the generosity, and wishes it the very best for the future.
