The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jennifer Gall, from Dundee, on undertaking to walk 1.3 million steps to raise money to support other stroke survivors in Scotland by taking part in the Stroke Association’s Stride For Stroke; acknowledges that Jennifer is undertaking the challenge to raise awareness of the huge number of people affected by stroke, noting that 1.3 million steps is one step for every person in the UK who, reportedly, is living with the effects of their stroke; appreciates the enormous strides that Jennifer has made in her own recovery from stroke 15 years ago when she was 18 and a student at Abertay University; understands that this challenge is her latest way of proving that it is possible for many people to make a really good recovery after their stroke with the right rehab and support, such as she received at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Dundee; notes that the challenge means that Jennifer will do at least 10,000 strides every day for the next 130 days; commends her volunteering work for the Stroke Association, and wishes her good luck on her Stride For Stroke.
