String of Successes for The WeeCOOK Kitchen at Barry Downs

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The WeeCOOK Kitchen at Barry Downs and its owner, Hayley Wilkes, on a succession of awards, the latest of which include Gold and Bronze Awards at the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards 2022, as well as a Diamond Award for its Veggie Caponata Formaggio, which additionally won the Macleans Cup for Best Speciality Savoury Pie; recognises that this follows further recent prizes at the 2021 British Pie Awards, including for the Best Vegan Pie in the UK and for Young Piemaker of the Year, won by apprentice Anya Sturrock; celebrates what it sees as WeeCOOK’s strong support for the development of its staff, with Hayley having been named Resilient Woman of the Year and overall winner at the 2020 Business Women Scotland Awards, and commends its community spirit in the aftermath of Storm Arwen, when free meals were provided to people in the area who had been left without power.
