Opportunities for Women in Agriculture
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the work of Lantra Scotland for what it sees as the organisation’s vital work in supporting the personal and professional development of women in agriculture, providing training to improve accessibility and improve skills, and helping to break down stereotypes of agriculture as an industry primarily for men; understands that, in partnership with the Scottish Government's Women in Agriculture Programme Practical Training Fund, Lantra Scotland has supported more than 400 women and girls to take courses to develop their skill sets or change careers, and help to ensure that the community workforce meets the needs of this fast-changing sector in Scotland, and urges women in the north east and across Scotland to consider a career in agriculture and apply for this funding opportunity.
