National Independent Venue Week

The motion

That the Parliament notes that 31 January to 6 February 2022 is national Independent Venue Week; understands that IVW is a seven-day celebration of music venues around the country and the people who own, run and work in them; recognises what it sees as the valuable role that independent music venues play in developing the next generation of talent, providing many artists with their first experience of playing live in front of an audience; notes what it sees as the wider role that these venues play as community, cultural and creative hubs, and voices its support for the sector, which, it believes, has been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.
