Asda Stores Introducing a Permanent Quiet Hour Across its Stores
The motion
That the Parliament commends Asda stores for introducing a quiet hour to help customers with hidden disabilities; recognises that stores with loud noises, bright lights and a large volume of people can be stressful for some customers; understands that Asda stores across the West of Scotland region and the rest of the country will benefit from the hour on Monday to Thursday at 2.00 pm; further understands that there are an estimated 14.1 million disabled people living in the UK, and that 80% of disabilities are hidden, and believes that, by introducing quieter times for customers to shop, it will help to make the shopping experience more welcoming and inclusive for customers with additional needs.
