The motion

That the Parliament supports Bho Bheul an Eòin (From the Bird’s Mouth), which is a project giving Gaelic names to some of Scotland’s newly-arrived nature which, it understands, is migrating to Scotland due to the changing climate; recognises what it sees as the value of connecting to the landscape through language, tradition and culture; celebrates this initiative by the acclaimed wildlife artist, Derek Robertson; believes that it will help to maintain Gaelic's rich, cultural link with the changing ecology of the landscape in which it is embedded; notes the involvement of NatureScot and Bòrd na Gàidhlig; understands that the project is consulting with scientists, researchers and Gaelic writers, to give a voice to nature, and hopes that projects such as Bho Bheul an Eòin will invigorate the use of Gaelic in everyday life.
