Ayrshire Rivers Trust Project Protects Wildlife in Mauchline
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the work of Ayrshire Rivers Trust as it begins 2022 by recycling used Christmas trees to prevent erosion along river banks that are facing high currents; notes that the group aims to restore stability to river banks for the benefit of biodiversity, habitat, and water quality; understands that the Trust holds volunteer days where anyone can come along and get involved with tree planting and other tasks; further understands that, traditionally, the Trust focussed on conserving fish populations, and that now it is launching projects to benefit species of birds and mammals too, and wishes Ayrshire Rivers Trust well as it continues its work to conserve and enhance biodiversity across the region.
