The motion

That the Parliament welcomes steps taken by volunteers at Kersiebank Community Project (KCP) to establish an addiction drop-in clinic in Grangemouth; understands that the clinic will run on Thursdays from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm at the KCP building in Grangemouth town centre, with representatives from Change Grow Live and Forth Valley Family Support services and from Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs providing advice; notes what it sees as the significant impact that addiction has on the lives of people and families across communities; considers that it is important to reduce the stigma attached to addiction to enable individuals to seek the support they need to help them recover fully; commends the Scottish Government’s national mission to reduce drug related deaths and harms; further commends what it sees as the Scottish Government’s commitment to tackle Scotland’s complex and harmful relationship with alcohol through minimum unit pricing and the national Alcohol Framework; calls on the UK Government to work with the Scottish Government to find a better way to address substance misuse in communities; commends the work of the volunteers involved with the KCP, and looks forward to this new addiction clinic helping to change lives in and around the communities of Grangemouth.
