Motherwell Football Club Posts Record Profit

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Motherwell Football Club on posting a record profit of £3.5 million for the year ending May 2021; commends the club for this success during the challenging and uncertain times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic; recognises that Motherwell Football Club is a fan-owned club, with members of The Well Society being the majority shareholders; considers that during a time when negative press headlines are too common within the sport, the Lanarkshire club continues to put its positive values and morals at the heart of everything that it does to benefit its supporters and community, including giving free tickets to low-income families and the unemployed, and thanks it for its proactive work in raising awareness of mental health.
