Fundraising for Epilepsy Charity by Aberdeen Donside resident
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the remarkable efforts of Aberdeen Donside resident, Donna Clark, in her ongoing fundraising to raise money for Epilepsy Action; understands that Epilepsy Action has set a fundraising challenge for individuals to walk 50 miles in February 2022; notes that epilepsy is one of the most common serious neurological conditions in the world; understands that it affects around 600,000 people in the UK; further understands that the money raised by participating in the 50-mile walk will go towards helping the charity to support more people affected by the loneliness that epilepsy can bring, and to help educate the public, so that more people living with epilepsy feel safer and that they are being treated fairly and with respect; understands that the fundraising will also allow the charity to give people the help and support they need to control their epilepsy, and in some cases help stop seizures completely; notes that, for many participants, this will be a challenge out with their comfort zone; believes that all participants are keen to raise awareness of epilepsy, and wishes Donna and everyone participating all the best in their fundraising efforts.
