AGS Airports Endorses Toulouse Declaration Underpinning Aviation Industry’s Net Zero Commitment
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recent announcement that AGS Airports Ltd, which owns and operates Aberdeen International Airport, has endorsed the Toulouse Declaration; understands that the Toulouse Declaration is the first-ever public-private initiative supporting European aviation’s goal to reach net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050; further understands that the Toulouse Declaration is the first joint initiative of its kind globally; notes that AGS Airports Ltd launched its sustainability strategy in June 2021, which stated that each of the Group’s three airports achieved carbon neutrality status in 2020 and set the Group's target of achieving net zero carbon from direct emissions by the mid-2030s, and welcomes the commitment of AGS Airports Ltd to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to help Scotland become a net zero country.
