Coalfields Regeneration Trust Make Award to Cumnock Heritage Centre
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the work of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust as it makes an award of £3,000 to Cumnock Heritage Centre to help with website development; understands that the Coalfields Regeneration Trust is the UK’s only organisation that is solely dedicated towards regenerating former mining towns and industrial areas across Scotland; notes that the Cumnock Heritage Centre allows generations to compare progress on engineering, transport, agriculture, and steam to understand how these things operated in the past; understands that this project will allow the Centre to become more accessible online, which it is hoped will attract a larger number of visitors to the Centre and to Cumnock more generally, and wishes the Cumnock Heritage Centre well with its new website and its mission to educate visitors about the past.
