West of Scotland Padel Club
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West of Scotland Padel Club, in Stevenston, for hosting what it understands was the first ever Scottish Grade 1 Padel Championships; notes that the Championships took place over the weekend 18 to 20 February 2022; understands that the game of padel is the fastest growing sport in Europe; further understands that the West of Scotland Padel club is a not-for-profit charitable organisation, which is run entirely by volunteers, who work hard to develop the game of padel; notes that players attended from all over the world to compete, and congratulates West of Scotland Padel club members, Meghan Montgomerie and Mercedes Perez Gonzalez, for winning the women’s doubles, and Jorge Martinez Del Campo and Nikhil Mohindra for winning the men’s finals; commends West of Scotland Padel club on organising an excellent event, and wishes the club every success in the future.
