Granite Noir 2022
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the return of Aberdeen’s crime-writing festival, Granite Noir; understands that 2022 marks the festival’s sixth year, which will run from 24 to 27 February; notes that Granite Noir is a festival that is inspired by the popularity of crime fiction in all its forms, with inspiration from the City of Aberdeen, making it a perfect backdrop for the festival; understands that 2022 will see the festival run a combination of online and in-person events; further understands that events from the festival will be live streamed around the world, which will allow those unable to attend the festival in person to enjoy some of the festival’s programme; notes that venues such as the Lemon Tree, His Majesty’s Theatre and Aberdeen City Library are amongst the list of venues in the Granite City hosting this year’s festival, and recognises the efforts of all involved in the organisation of this year’s festival.
