Congratulating the Cycling Souters

That the Parliament congratulates the Cycling Souters, an 11-man cycling team who completed the 515-mile Doddie Cup 500 cycle ride from BT Murrayfield to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium; understands that the Cycling Souters’ team comprised of ex-internationalists, Gordon Hunter, Graham Marshall and Iwan Tukalo, Selkirk RFC vice-president, David Anderson and ex-Selkirk players, Tommy Knox, Kenny Pearce, Kevin Fairbairn and, Allen Jamieson; recognises that former Selkirk players, Lawrence McPherson and, John Smail, also travelled with the team as support crew; understands they were part of a wider 105-strong group that raised over £250,000 Doddie’s Weir’s MND charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, and commends Selkirk’s Cycling Souters for beating their initial target of £5,000, by raising over £19,000 in total.
