Lodged by Ariane Burgess (Scottish Green Party) Standard Motion 14 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Dandelion, the Scotland-wide creative growing initiative, which it understands was catalysed by Event Scotland, in partnership with local organisations; celebrates its Unexpected Gardens initiative, which is planned to spring-up from the Borders to the Highlands, along Scotland’s canals and in urban, rural and island locations, indoors and open-air, on unused and forgotten land; supports its aim to show that life can bloom in unlikely places and bring people together to sow, grow and harvest; commends the efforts of Findhorn Bay Arts in engaging with this project as a way of revitalising Forres High Street, which has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that Forres will also be visited by Dandelion’s Cubes of Perpetual Light, which are vertical farms of seedlings growing under LED light, and celebrates the Unexpected Gardens that are also blooming in Uist and Alness, Dundee, Edinburgh, Greenock, Hawick, Leven, Stranraer, and touring around Caithness and the Union and Forth and Clyde Canals.
