Workers in Scotland Opposing Russian Government

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the reported announcement by the trade union, Unite, that it will support those workers who boycott the docking of a Russian-owned oil tanker in Orkney, which, it understands, is expected within days; believes that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a murderous war of occupation that all should oppose; further believes that those workers who take direct action in opposition to the war should be applauded; calls on the Scottish Government and businesses to do all they can to disrupt the operations of the Russian Government and economy in order to best undermine the war, and further calls on workers in all ports, globally, to support workers in Scotland in their stance.
