Craigneuk Grassroot Community Groups

That the Parliament congratulates the three Grassroot Community Groups in Craigneuk, St Thomas’ Primary, Craigneuk Amateurs Football Club and Craigneuk Lifelong Learning Association (CLLA) on receiving a share of £2,000 of funding; understands that CLLA will use its award to purchase Relax Kids training programme, which will provide support for children and young people and the ability to run workshop sessions providing a seven-step system that teaches mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help to promote positive mental and emotional wellbeing; further understands that Craigneuk Amateurs will use its award to purchase equipment and materials that will allow it to provide a free football camp for primary-aged children this summer, and that St Thomas’ Primary will use its award to purchase equipment and materials to develop a library hub facility within the school; believes that initiatives like these focus on allowing young people from across Wishaw and Motherwell to access training and coaching they would sometimes struggle to participate in; commends all three groups on what it sees as their dedication to the community, and the residents of Craigneuk on participating in the budgeting initiative survey, and wishes them continued success in the future.
