The motion

That the Parliament commends the Fire Brigades Union and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) for signing up to the Dying to Work Campaign, which aims to help employees who become terminally ill at work; understands that the campaign is managed by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and is supported by the STUC; further understands that the campaign encourages employers to sign up to a voluntary Charter that commits to ensuring all employees who have a terminal illness have adequate employment protection, with the aim of providing financial security at a time when it is most needed; believes that the Charter can help to alleviate some of the worries and stresses that come with a terminal diagnosis, and sets out what it believes to be a progressive way in which workers should be treated and supported at what is a difficult and traumatic time, and calls upon all trade unions and employers to support and sign up to the Dying to Work campaign.
