World Kidney Day 2022

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges World Kidney Day on 10 March 2022; recognises that this day is an opportunity to raise awareness of kidney disease and its potential impacts on individuals and their families; understands that the World Kidney Day Joint Steering Committee has declared 2022 to be the year of Kidney Health for All, and has called for efforts to bridge the knowledge gaps to better kidney care; notes with concern reports that one out of every 10 people worldwide have Chronic Kidney Disease, and that kidney disease-related mortality continues to increase each year, and hopes that greater understanding of kidney disease will help to tackle what it sees as the global burden that this condition places on both healthcare systems and individuals' lives.
