Craig McEwan Raises Money for Doddie Aid

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Craig McEwan, Assistant Head of Physics at Robert Gordon’s College Aberdeen, who successfully ran over 220 miles in 43 days to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Charity, Doddie Aid; understands that Doddie Aid is a mass participation event, encouraging individuals to get active in January, whilst also raising funds to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease; understands that in January 2021, Doddie Aid encouraged 22,000 participants to get active, raising an incredible £1million; further understands that Craig completed a minimum of five kilometres per day, often through extremely harsh stormy conditions, before concluding with a marathon on the last day; understands that Craig was contacted by several people from across the country offering support and encouragement, symbolising the community aspect of Doddie Aid; commends Craig, his team and supporters for so far raising £490 for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and for providing, it believes, inspiration for many others, and wishes them all the best in the future.
