National Lottery Community Funding for Aberdeen-Based Organisations
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that three organisations, which are based in Aberdeen, have received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that Camphill Medical Practice Limited, which is based at the Waldorf School in Cults, has been awarded a £150,000 grant, which will be used to deliver health and wellbeing activities delivered through a social enterprise model; further understands that the practice will also use the funding to carry out maintenance on dilapidated buildings, transforming them into a community hub for groups and social enterprises to use; understands that Early Intervention Aberdeen has received funding of £10,000, which will be used to deliver speech, language and music therapy sessions for children in Aberdeen with conditions, including ADHD and autism; further understands that TLC, an Aberdeen charity, which provides a befriending service, foodbank and other forms of support, has been awarded a £162,357 grant, which will go towards expanding the befriending service by employing three members of staff and training an additional 96 volunteers; congratulates all three organisations, their staff, volunteers and supporters on receiving their respective funding, and passes on its best wishes for every success in the future.
