Social Care Charity Announces Pay Increase for Frontline Support Workers
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes reports that the social care charity, Community Integrated Care, has recently announced a £3 million frontline pay investment; notes that Community Integrated Care helps people with learning disabilities, autism and poor mental health to live independently; understands that the charity is set to increase pay for its frontline support workers in Scotland to £11 per hour from 1 April 2022; notes that the pay rise will see the charity pay more than the National Living Wage and the voluntary Real living Wage; believes that the investment reflects the charity’s commitments to frontline recognition under its new Best Lives Possible five-year strategy, and recognises the important role that frontline care workers play, and the important role they have played throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
