Mind Mosaic Counselling and Therapy Receives £176,380 from the National Lottery Community Fund
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Greenock-based mental health charity, Mind Mosaic Counselling and Therapy, on being granted £176,380 from the National Lottery Community Fund to help provide therapeutic interventions for adults who have experienced issues such as abuse, poverty or isolation; notes that the charity is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022; understands that the combination of the new facilities they expanded into in November 2021 and this funding from the National Lottery Community Fund will allow Mind Mosaic to reach more people who may be experiencing poor mental health; further understands that this funding will allow Mind Mosaic to set up more groups within the community and invest in top-quality video conferencing equipment to support virtual meetings between staff and service users, especially for those who do not yet feel comfortable being in group settings; understands that the cash boost will also enable the charity to create four additional posts to add to the growing team who work both in the Greenock offices and virtually across the country; further understands that the team currently offer around 110 counselling and therapy sessions per week, excluding group work; commends Mind Mosaic and its staff for its commitment to helping people who are experiencing poor mental health and trauma, and wishes them all the best as they utilise this funding to reach more people in need of support.
