The motion

That the Parliament commends Stena Drilling for its £10,000 donation to NHS Orkney; understands that the crews of the offshore drilling rigs, Stena Spey and Stena Don, which have been based in Scapa Flow over recent months, fundraised £8,000 over the festive period through onboard events to raise spirits of the crew, with teams from Stena Drilling raising this final amount to £10,000; notes that this generous donation will go towards NHS Orkney's Hospital Adventures project, which focuses on demystifying hospitals and making these less intimidating for children and their families; applauds the initiative, which, through experiences, such as scavenger hunts and the use of teddies, helps create positive memories while visiting loved ones in hospital and is supported by hospital staff who provide helpful and accessible information on how treatments work; recognises that Scotland's National Clinical Director recently praised the Hospital Adventures initiative spearheaded by trauma nurse, Dr Tariro Gandiya, on a visit to Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall; believes that this initiative has made an enormous difference to many families in Orkney and that this donation will help benefit more at what can be a very difficult time in people's lives, and thanks all at Stena Drilling for their fundraising efforts and on selecting this very worthy local cause.
