Advanced Clothing Solutions Wins Scottish Apprenticeship Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), a North Lanarkshire-based circular fashion service provider, for winning the Supporting Net Zero Apprentice Employer of the Year category in the 2022 Scottish Apprenticeship Awards; acknowledges that ACS, working with partners such as Zero Waste Scotland, provides apprentices with the opportunity to learn new environmentally-friendly methods from green sector partners, which can be shared and implemented with other organisations; understands that ACS is a carbon neutral supplier, which aspires to be net zero by 2025, and that ACS apprentices have been able to use skills learned at Glasgow Caledonian University to support a number of sustainability initiatives within the organisation, including involvement with harvesting laundry water, recycling and reusing clothing hangers, and supporting organisational beehives and a wormery for food waste produced on site, and notes that, in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University, ACS runs an apprenticeship programme that currently includes six Graduate Apprentices and has plans to significantly increase apprenticeship opportunities in 2022 to support company growth.
