MCR Pathways Mentor Programme with Falkirk Council Schools
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recently announced programme between MCR Pathways and Falkirk Councils for three schools across the district, including Bo’ness Academy, Graeme High School and Falkirk High School; understands that the programme involves fully-trained volunteer mentors spending one hour per week working with care-experienced young people and other pupils to help them to build confidence, overcome challenges and focus on a positive future; recognises the stated commitment to ensure that Scotland is the best place in the world for children to grow up; understands that this mentor programme will provide support to young people to help deliver on that commitment; believes that it is important for children and young people to have role models with a wide range of experience in order to support them in their journey through some of the most formative years of their lives; commends this programme between MCR Pathways and Falkirk Council, and looks forward to seeing the positive impact, it believes, this will have on the lives of young people in Falkirk East and across Falkirk district.
