British Deaf Association Sign Language Week 2022

The motion

That the Parliament commends and draws attention to the work of the British Deaf Association during British Deaf Association Sign Language Week 2022, which takes place from 14 to 20 March 2022; understands that the week marks the 19th anniversary of the official recognition of BSL in the UK, and further understands that the theme of the event is Bring us all Together and that it aims to draw attention to the learning opportunities that exist and encourage people to take up the challenge of learning some BSL, to help to bring people together and break down the barriers that exist for the 87,000 people in the UK who use BSL as their preferred language.
