The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park on receiving £15,760 from the Scottish Government’s eBike Grant Fund, which is delivered by Energy Saving Trust; understands that this will allow Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park to purchase five eBikes and an eCargo bike to allow staff to commute to and from work and enable volunteers working with countryside rangers to cycle to areas of work with the ranger and transport hand tools to the site in the cargo bike; further understands that this will reduce vehicle use within the park by enabling staff to cycle between centres within Clyde Muirshiel and Gleniffer Braes parks, and that this reduction in vehicle use, it understands, should equate to around 40 to 70 miles per week of short journeys currently done by van; believes that this funding will help to deliver the transformational shift needed to help the country meet its 20% car kilometre reduction target, while also protecting the climate from what it sees as damaging transport emissions; commends Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park for the actions that it is taking to reduce its staff's impact on the planet, and wishes them all the best as they embark on this project.
