Bo’ness and Carriden Band Blow the Competition Away at Scottish Championships

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Bo’ness and Carriden Band on winning the Scottish Brass Bands Association Scottish Championship First Section, in Perth on 12 March 2022; understands that the band was founded in 1858 and holds the accolade as one of the oldest brass bands in the country; notes that the Bo’ness and Carriden Band has won the Scottish Championship on five occasions since 1895; considers that the band has created an invaluable opportunity for musicians across the Falkirk district to gain experience playing as part of a brass band ensemble and attend numerous events displaying their skills; commends the Unison Kinneil band, also based in Bo’ness, on its performance in the Championship Section of the competition; congratulates the Bo’ness and Carriden Band on its achievement at the Scottish Championship, and wishes it success in future competitions.
