Tree Planting Project in Lanarkshire Parks

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that St Aidan’s Primary School, Wishaw, has been planting trees in Strathclyde Country Park as part of the Climate Emergency Wood Project; notes that one tree for every school child will be planted to create new woodlands in country parks, and understands that a total of 40,000 native trees including downy birch, sessile oak, common alder, rowan, gean, hazel and hawthorn will be planted in sites across North Lanarkshire, including Drumpellier Country Park, as part of the Green Canopy Project to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, 2022.
