North Lanarkshire Hopeful Athlete Dreams of Commonwealth Games
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Larkhall athlete, Alexander Thomson, who, it understands, is hoping to attract support in order to fulfil his dream of competing in the Commonwealth Games 2022; understands that the 20-year-old student from New College Lanarkshire travels internationally to take part in para-athletics events; further understands that the rising para-athlete star is currently preparing for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games by competing in a series of events, including making the semi-finals of the 60 and 200 metres at the Scottish Student Indoor Championship in February 2022, and recognises that Alexander competes in the T38 disability sport classification with cerebral palsy and that, over the last two years, he has been selected for the British Athletics’ Paralympic Futures Academy.
