NHS Lanarkshire Social Prescribing

That the Parliament welcomes the successful application by NHS charities to NHS Lanarkshire for more than £321,000 of funding; understands that the funding will be used to enhance the level of social prescribing across North Lanarkshire and develop social prescribing arrangements in East Kilbride; believes that the social prescribing model can enable GPs, nurses and other health professionals to expand support to a variety of additional, non-clinical services that, it considers, enable individuals greater autonomy over their own health and contribute to a greater quality of life, and understands that third-sector partners can help contribute towards enhancing the delivery of social prescribing and in further identifying areas for development and priority for service users.
