Bellshill Roofing Experts and DMG Services Group LTD Shortlisted at the Federation of Small Businesses Awards

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the outstanding achievement of Bellshill-based DMG Services Group LTD, which has been shortlisted for two Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) awards; understands that DMG is a finalist in both the community category and the start-up of the year category, demonstrating what it sees as its innovation, creativity and commitment to giving back to the local area; notes its Academy of Roofing, which, it understands, is the first of its kind in North Lanarkshire and was founded in response to industry demands to tackle the growing skills shortage in the UK and to provide the quality specialist training which, until then, was unavailable, and acknowledges what it sees as the impressive journey of DMG’s managing director, Darren McGhee, who, it understands, was inspired by winning apprentice of the year at college and went from strength to strength as his career ascended, creating a legacy and giving back to the community.
