Scottish First Aid Awards 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all winners of the Scottish First Aid Awards 2022 for what it sees as their outstanding acts of bravery and community support; notes that the ceremony was held on 11 March 2022 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow and was attended by over 400 people; understands that this event is organised annually by St Andrew’s First Aid (SAFA), Scotland’s only dedicated first aid charity, which has over 1,000 volunteers who carry out first aid training courses for the public and schools; further understands that the awards were created to recognise individuals, volunteers and businesses who are leading the way in first aid across the country; celebrates all those people and organisations who were nominated for awards on, it believes, making a difference between a life lost and a life saved; considers that by sharing inspiring stories, it can make as many people as possible aware of the importance of basic first aid; understands that funds raised through the Scottish First Aid Awards will ensure SAFA’s work in local communities continues, helping them to make the country a nation of life-savers; wishes all finalists and their families all the best for the future, and hopes that the awards will inspire more people across the country to develop essential first aid skills.
